Hudson Shores
Cambridge Maryland:
Since its foundation in 1684, Cambridge has drawn those who love the water. Once a harbor for trading ships taking tobacco to England and later a deepwater port for 20th-century freighters, Cambridge was also a shipbuilding town. Skipjacks, bugeyes, and log canoes were made here. The town still draws boaters -- but now they're pleasure boaters. High Street leads to the Choptank -- a lovely stroll with a great water view at the end. History buffs, especially those interested in the Civil War era, take interest in the town's connections with the Underground Railroad. Nature-lovers find it a nice stop on their way to Blackwater Refuge or to a hunting or fishing trip. Visitors planning a Mid-Shore visit to Easton or St. Michaels may prefer this quiet place as a base. - Frommers

Oxford:
Oxford, Maryland, founded in 1694, is one of Maryland's oldest towns. Located near the mouth of the Tred Avon River Oxford served as one of only two ports of entry for British trade vessels in Colonial times. Today, Oxford is a quiet town enjoyed by visitors who appreciate it's history and charm.
The Oxford-Bellevue Ferry, believed to be the oldest privately operated ferry in the United States, makes the trip across the Tred Avon River to Bellevue every 25 minutes. Oxford has a lovely town park located on Morris Street with picnic tables and swings overlooking the Tred Avon. Oxford is home to six different marinas with transient boat slips.
Easton:
The charming town of Easton is located in Talbot County, Maryland. Easton is a pretty town with tree lined streets and many restored, historic buildings. Both the shopping and cuisine are delightful, and Easton boasts a significant artist community; evidenced in it's many galleries. The historical society provides maps for a walking tour of the town.

St. Michaels, Maryland is a popular destination with a nice mix of history, gift shops, restaurants, lodging, and small town charm. St. Michaels' combination of popular marinas, inns and bed & breakfasts, shops, and restaurants make it a favorite destination for boaters.

Relax… Go no further than the shoreline to find great swimming, crabbing, fishing, sunning or boating. The small beach is a luxury spot all year long, and the heated pool provides for a warm swim during colder days and nights. Endless porches and a fire pit are the centerpiece for many nighttime get-togethers. We have a small skiff and we make it available upon request to renters for cruising/fishing on the river.
In The Neighborhood: Bike (we provide several cruiser-style bikes) or walk down the neighborhood’s cul-de-sac and enjoy marvelous sunrises and sunsets among the finest of Maryland’s summer and weekend retreats.
Sports: Water and Land:
Hudson Creek is a long protected river leading into the Little Choptank. It provides literally miles of passages for quiet kayaking, fishing or pleasure boating and access to the Bay. The water-skiing is excellent. There are boats there for you to use: including kayaks and a canoe. The Choptank River is two minutes away over land. Make use of the nearby boat ramp/Marina and you now have quick access to Oxford, St. Michaels and Cambridge by water.
If you like, numerous local guides are pleased to help you find that trophy Rockfish lurking nearby or in the famous shoals of Hooper’s Island and Crisfield. In town, the Yacht Club also has boats to rent for a sail on the Choptank.
Bike tours from all over the world flock to the Eastern shore because it’s flat, the roads are good quality, the traffic is light and the sights are endless. Blackwater Refuge offers world-class nature views, and can bike in Easton, St. Michaels and Oxford, and there are many bike tours maps available to the visitor. There are six cruiser-style bikes there for your enjoyment.
There are two fantastic golf links nearby. The River Marsh course at the Hyatt Chesapeake is renown, and has a 126 slope and course rating of 71.9. Hog Neck (18 miles) has a **** rating from Golf Magazine, with a challenging 132 slope and course rating of 73.7. There are three additional courses between 5 and 20 miles away that beckon as well.
Within 15 Minutes:
For the nature lover there’s the famous Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge, and the Jean Du Pont Audubon Sanctuary; but the entire Shore is full of natural wonders and the surrounding areas.
The town of Cambridge is very close with choice restaurants (including some fun places on the water), a beautiful section of historic homes and interesting shops. The Hyatt Chesapeake has much for the visitor including a great Spa, the golf course, marina, three restaurants and nighttime movies with food service at the indoor Wintergarden pool for all. You can catch blue crabs off the dock or take a five-minute drive down the road and pick them up from a local merchant. If you prefer to be served, there are two restaurants on the water just moments away, and another dozen choices just minutes further.
Within 30+- Minutes:
Cambridge, Easton, St. Michaels and Oxford are a destination known throughout the East and the activities are endless. Visitors can shop, dine and sightsee year-round. Eastern Shore culinary treats are world famous including Blue Crabs, Oysters Silver Queen Sweet corn and more. In the summer, there are enough Cultural, Historical, Culinary, Architectural and Nature festivals shows and concerts. The closest venue; Sailwinds Park in Cambridge is a treat. Tours are available of many indigenous sailing and fishing vessels on display such as the Skipjack Nathan and the Rebecca Ruark, and the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum holds numerous ships and exhibits. Drive beyond 30 minutes and visit Crisfield Island, Ocean City Maryland or the Delaware Shore for a day at the ocean, or see the famous wild ponies of Chincoteague Island.
Even More (great) Golf: There are several golf courses about 50 mins from Cambridge near Ocean City. If you want to add a 36 hole-day to the exceptional courses near the house, you can find it easily.
The new, nearby Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Resort and Spa has become a favorite retreat for those from New York to Richmond.
